ROSSANA LLENADO, president of Ahead Learning Systems, will be conferred the Aurelio Periquet Jr. Business Leadership Award at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6. The award will be handed to Llenado by Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo during the Philippine Business Conference of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) at the Manila Hotel.
The Award recognizes excellent business leaders “who are not only successful in their business but who also promote the good of the Filipinos and country”. It is being given by the Aurelio Periquet, Jr. Foundation, the PCCI, and the Manila Jaycees in cooperation with the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. and Manila Bulletin.
Launched seven years ago, the award is considered “the most prestigious honor for the leaders of Philippine business” as it highlights the “exemplary achievements of Filipino business leaders and encourage them to dedicate their lives in the service of the country”.
Specifically, Llenado won in the Pearl Category which is conferred on a business leader aged 35 and below. The only other category is the Pillar Award for ages 36 and above.
Among the recent Pearl category awardees are: Lance Gokongwei, president/ CEO of JG Summit Holdings, 2001; Alexandra Prieto-Romualdez, president, Philippine Daily Inquirer, 2002; and Luis Raymund Villafuerte of Lara’s Gift and Decors, 2003.
Llenado is president of AHEAD Learning Systems which operates AHEAD Tutorial and Review Center, Ahead Professional Network, and AHEAD Books and Things. She is also the school director of WorldPrep Learning Center.
She is actively involved in the community through non-profit organizations such as the Zonta International Metro Pasig Chapter, San Juan “Pinaglabanan” Jaycees, Philippine Marketing Association (PMA), Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), Quezon City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), Philippine Small and Medium Enterprises Development (PHILSMED), Pre-elementary Educators of the Philippines, UP Alumni Association, and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
Over and above these corporate and community roles, Ms. Llenado is married to businessman Eduardo Llenado, with whom she has four young children. She is also an Education Administration graduate student at the Ateneo de Manila University.
