The life of small-time entrepreneurs is most often than not a little bit crazy.
I’m having one of those crazy weeks when anything and everything could happen. It started last Friday when I had to sit down for a TV interview, which made my radio interview the next day a bit easier. Sunday didn’t give me any rest because it was the first batch of our UPCAT Refresher Course. This is always a big production for AHEAD because this is probably the last chance that we can give our students that much-needed boost of confidence for the UP College Admission Test.
Taking the UPCAT is a stressful experience, but it doesn’t have to be so, especially when a student has enrolled in our review program. Fortunately, everything went well, and when all was said and done, I said a little prayer hoping that all our students get to be admitted into the school of their dreams.
By the time the new week came around, things were already in full swing. I had meetings for Ahead Tutorial & Review Center, Ahead Books & Things, Victorious School, and AheadPro on Monday. For AHEADPro, we are producing a big seminar for school principals this October. On January, we will be touring Asia for another seminar on images and photographs. I also met some people for our Ahead Interactive and VidRes on Tuesday. Because we were participating in the 10th Filipino Franchise Show at the World Trade Center, there were last-minute preparations to be taken care of on Tuesday as well.
Wednesday found me attending the Miriam Parent Teacher Association where I became an officer. Why do I always get voted into these things? I should have been wearing my blue nail polish. I’m sure they wouldn’t vote for somebody with blue polish!
Thursday and Friday I spent at the Franchise Show. I love meeting up with other entrepreneurs. Whenever I’m around them, I feel like I’m with kindred spirits. If you’re in the area, do visit our booth at the World Trade Center. We’ll tell you the many reasons why investing in education is good for you!
Today, I have classes for the Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL). OK, I don’t have any plans of teaching English, but since AHEADPro is offering IELTS and TOEFL review, I have to know this too.
Tomorrow, I’ll be at the SM Megatrade Hall once again for the second batch of our UPCAT Refresher Course.
This killer schedule happens to me all the time, safe to say, every month. But that’s how exciting small entrepreneurship is. If I had a lot of money to hire a lot of people to run my projects for me, I wouldn’t be this busy. But hey, who said I am not enjoying all these?
Yes, it’s been crazy, but it’s when things are all over the place that my senses are heightened and my brains work overtime. I am at my best when I have to juggle a lot of things at the same time. But I know that I have to take care of myself too! In the middle of this crazy week, I had a relaxing massage. And last night, I watched a whole lot of television with my kids and had a nice long dinner with my loved one at Rockwell.
On Monday, President Noynoy will give his State of the Nation Address so my children will have no classes. So even if I will miss the chance to watch a movie with my kids tomorrow, I can still do so on Monday. And that is why I love this SONA on Monday.
